For the Woman Who Does Everything and Feels Invisible Doing It | SEEN

This is a new corner of Sorta Done, and it’s a little different from the rest of the site. No products here. No links. Just the stuff underneath everything else.

Here’s why I created it.

The Invisible Work

You know the work I’m talking about. The dishes that get done and dirtied again before anyone notices they were clean. The appointments remembered. The birthdays tracked. The encouraging text you sent at exactly the right moment. The thing you fixed quietly before it became a problem.

Nobody claps for that work. Most of the time, nobody even sees it.

And if you’re anything like me, there are days when that invisibility gets heavy. You start to wonder if you could disappear into the laundry pile and anyone would notice before they ran out of socks.

El Roi: The God Who Sees Me

There’s a woman in the Bible named Hagar. If you don’t know her story, here’s the short version: she was a servant, she was mistreated, and she ran away into the desert — pregnant, alone, and completely out of options. She was, by every earthly measure, invisible. Nobody was coming for her.

Except Someone did. God met her right there in the desert. And Hagar did something remarkable — she gave God a name. She called Him El Roi: the God who sees me.

Out of everyone in Scripture, the first person to name God wasn’t a king or a prophet. It was an overlooked woman in the middle of nowhere who had just discovered she was never actually alone.

I can’t get over that.

What SEEN Is Going to Be

That’s what this category is for. It’s for the days when you feel like the invisible engine keeping everything running. The days you’re not fully done with anything — the pots are still in the sink, the to-do list rolled over again — and you’re wondering if any of it matters.

It does. You are seen. Not just by me, from one sorta-done woman to another — but by the God who watched Hagar in the desert and stopped to speak to her by name.

Here’s what you can expect from SEEN going forward: honest posts about faith and real life, short reflections when the week is heavy, and every once in a while, a prayer for the women who are doing the same things I am and thinking they’re the only one.

We’re not the only one. We never were.

Before You Go

If today is one of the invisible days, I want to leave you with this: you don’t have to finish everything to be worthy of rest. You don’t have to be done to be loved. Sorta done is still enough — because the One who sees you isn’t grading your checklist.

He’s just glad you’re here. And so am I.

If this found you on the right day, I’d love to hear from you in the comments. And if you know a woman who needs to hear it too — send it her way. That’s the whole point of this place.

Still here. Still His. And that’s enough.
